Terms of Service

    1. Agreement & Acceptance

    By booking moving services with BOSS Moving ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"), you ("Customer," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before scheduling your move. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.

    2. Services Description

    BOSS Moving provides residential and commercial moving services, including but not limited to: local and long-distance moving, packing and unpacking services, furniture disassembly and reassembly, specialty item moving, and temporary storage solutions. All services are subject to availability and the terms outlined in your service agreement.

    3. Booking & Scheduling

    When booking our services:

    • A deposit may be required to secure your moving date
    • You must provide accurate information about the scope of your move
    • Final pricing will be confirmed based on actual hours worked and services rendered
    • We reserve the right to adjust crew size based on job requirements
    • Moving dates are subject to availability and weather conditions

    4. Payment Terms & Conditions

    Payment terms are as follows:

    • Hourly rates are charged from arrival at pick-up location until completion at delivery location
    • A 2-hour minimum applies to all moves (includes travel time)
    • Travel time is charged at the hourly rate (maximum 1 hour each way)
    • Payment is due upon completion of services unless otherwise arranged
    • We accept cash, credit cards, and e-transfers
    • Additional charges may apply for stairs, long carries, or special handling requirements

    5. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

    Our cancellation policy:

    • More than 72 hours notice: Full refund of any deposit
    • 24-72 hours notice: 50% of deposit may be retained
    • Less than 24 hours notice: Full deposit may be forfeited
    • Same-day cancellation: Minimum 2-hour charge may apply
    • Rescheduling is subject to availability and may require a new deposit

    6. Liability & Insurance Coverage

    BOSS Moving carries comprehensive liability insurance. Our standard coverage includes:

    • Basic coverage: $0.60 per pound per article
    • Full value protection: Available for an additional fee
    • Coverage does not extend to items packed by the customer unless inspected by our team
    • High-value items (jewelry, cash, important documents) should be transported personally
    • We are not liable for pre-existing damage, inherent defects, or normal wear and tear

    7. Customer Responsibilities

    As a customer, you are responsible for:

    • Ensuring clear access at both pick-up and delivery locations
    • Securing parking permits if required
    • Disclosing any items requiring special handling (fragile, hazardous, extremely heavy)
    • Being present or having an authorized representative present during the move
    • Backing up electronic data before the move
    • Removing prohibited items (see Section 8)

    8. Prohibited Items

    We cannot transport the following items:

    • Hazardous materials (flammable liquids, explosives, chemicals)
    • Perishable foods
    • Live plants (for long-distance moves)
    • Pets and live animals
    • Illegal substances
    • Firearms and ammunition (unless properly declared and secured)

    9. Damage Claims Process

    In the event of damage:

    • Note any damage on the delivery receipt before signing
    • Report damage within 24 hours of delivery completion
    • Submit written claims within 9 months of the move date
    • Provide photos and documentation of damaged items
    • Original receipts or appraisals may be required for high-value claims

    10. Dispute Resolution

    Any disputes arising from our services will first be addressed through direct communication and good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes may be submitted to mediation or arbitration in Vancouver, British Columbia. Both parties agree to attempt mediation before pursuing any legal action.

    11. Limitation of Liability

    To the maximum extent permitted by law, BOSS Moving's total liability for any claims arising from our services shall not exceed the total amount paid for the specific move in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

    12. Governing Law

    These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any legal proceedings shall be conducted in the courts of British Columbia.

    13. Changes to Terms

    We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
